Goodbye Sept

The Season Premiere of Dexter was amazing. Dexter>lost+grey's anatomy+heroes+desperate housewives+24+any other major network hour-long drama.

It's dark with a tad bit of comedy twisted in. The ups and down of a well-tuned roller coaster with out getting tossed to and fro in your harnessed seat. No wondering about how long you're going to have to put up with a on again off again Grey/addison relationship, wonder why heroes took a nose dive over the last four episodes of season 1, wonder why Lost took a nose dive over a whole season, etc. wow. Dexter 10/10.

The new Dashboard Confessional CD is so-so. The new Jimmy Eat World CD is pretty good. I think the only album I didn't care for was self-titled/Bleed American what ever its called.

Well the A's had their worst season since 1997. They didn't do to hot in 1987 either. I guess they hate the number 7.

They still have the 5th best regular season record in my lifetime. So thats nice.

The A's won the season series against the Angels at least 10-9. That takes some of the sting away.

The M's creamed the A's 14-5 (it's sad, last year the A's won 17-2). That puts the sting back.
Texas won the season series 10-9 (same as last year, bah). More sting.

Fully Invested

When I claim I'm fully invested, BYU is a good football team, 2-0.

When I'm half-invested, well not so good.
When I go to BYU Football games they are 4-4.
When I am in the state of UT BYU's record against Utah 0-5
When I was in CA/Japan/NV 16-5

The NHL regular season started with the Kings and Ducks in London. The game looked funny. Like the camera wasn't in focus. It was strange.
The Kings have taken a lets pick up former Sharks attitude.

The GM is the former Sharks GM.
Brad Stuart played 423 Regular/playoff games in a Sharks uniform.
Scott Thornton played 383 Regular/playoff games in a Sharks uniform.
Tom Preissing played 165 Regular/playoff games in a Sharks uniform.

But now that the pre-season is over. I can focus on a real sport than boring football. The Sharks went undefeated 5-0-2 in the preseason. Barry Melrose went out a ledge and said they're the best team in the West. I hope he is right.

I watched the Reaper pilot because Kevin usually has decent taste. It was an entertaining show. Thanks Kevin. It very well bump The Office off from my weekly smorgasbord of TV watching.

Blah

So I watched The Office season premiere. The first season and first part of the second season, they took all the jokes from the original British version of The Office, crammed it in to the show and it was kind of funny. Not quite funny like the movie Office Space. But it was funny. Mainly because most people never saw the British version. So all the jokes were new.

After those first 12 episodes or so, the show has kind of taking a Friends approach, where you figure at some point, there will be a Pam/Jim getting together (Which happened in this episode). The rest of the characters are in the same ole same ole rut. It's a form letter script. The only progression is what happens to the Jim/Pam love triangle (which right now is a love line segment). The viewer is fine with that because they want to see their Jim and Pam get together and walk off into the syndication sunset a happy couple.

Thats fine and dandy, if the writing is witty, exciting, funny, not written by monkeys at typewriters, etc. I'm all for Jim and Pam getting married having babies and living happily ever after, 10 times a week on TBS/UPN/whatever. But The Office is a one-trick pony. I know I'm in the minority on this and could experience serious back lash if more than five people read this blog.

How The Office won an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, you got me (The worst 30 Rock episode > The best the Office episode last season).

Shame on you NBC, your season premiere week has been lackluster at best. Next week's 30 Rock is my last glimmer of hope of a solid season premiere from you guys.

The Big Bang Theory>My Name is Earl>The Office?

So I watched the Series Premiere of The Big Bang Theory finally. It's a hoot. I didn't watch the Office yet.

Grey's Anatomy-A Change is Going Come.

It was alright. I thought it was going to be ridiculous. Though the saving the deer was a bit out there. I actually think I liked it better than the Heroes premiere.

My Name Is Earl- My Name is Inmate 28301-016

The show has been kinda boring since the end of season 1. It seemed like an interesting little premise. They don't really change anything. It's in a rut.

I feel sorry for Tod. Not because he lost an eating contest to girls. But because he willingly went to Doc's Pizza Buffet in Provo. Thats just asking for a horrible time passing the pizza.
A first person commentary on the contest.

A third person commentary on the contest.

Fully Invested!!!

(My last week though)

Against New Mexico BYU is 23-3 during my lifetime. The average score is 35-18.
BYU is 1-1 on Sept 29th
97-54 away from BYU.
39-20 against MWC teams.

1 US Dollar = 1.00575 Canadian Dollar

1 Canadian Dollar (CAD) = 0.99428 US Dollar (USD)

Interbank rate +/- 0%

This means:
You buy 1 US Dollar : 1.00575 Canadian Dollar
You sell 1 US Dollar : 1.00543 Canadian Dollar
You buy 1 Canadian Dollar : 0.99428 US Dollar
You sell 1 Canadian Dollar : 0.99460 US Dollar

Median price = 1.00543 / 1.00575 (bid/ask)
Minimum price = 1.00203 / 1.00243
Maximum price = 1.00948 / 1.00973

Pretty soon Americans will be crossing the borders to get jobs.

Maybe that's the new immigration plan. Make the US dollar worthless. So the immigrants go home.

White people roaming the streets of Mexico... Speaking English. Picking fruit. fun.

Is That...

a Kevin C. in Tempe, AZ comment?!?!?!?!!?!

I feel like the prettiest girl at the prom. If I had a journal I would have to write in it. Instead I'll blog it.

So I realize the Disneyland posts are getting a bit redundant. But in our quest to go on every bloody ride at Disneyland, we found ourselves on "It's a Small World".
The boat in front of us got stuck. So no big deal. I'm sure the boat gets snagged on something occasionally. There ended up to be like a log jam of like ten boats or so. The ride operators come to investigate. They grab the boat, help two of the people off the boat. Then the boat floats off free. Free as a well, a boat.

They weren't the biggest people in America, but that has to be embarrassing to stand there as the nine other boats float on by. I don't know what happened to them after. Perhaps they were sent to a fat camp.

Oh and Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion FTW!

Now I'm at $128/38 rides=$3.39 a ride. Wow that pass is paying for itself.

-"The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" ride should be renamed as "The Acid Trip of Winnie the Pooh"

-Minnie Mouse needs a better agent, Mickey Mouse's house is like 3x as big as hers.

-I want to know why on "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride" you die and go to hell. Not quite what I would expect for being at the happiest place on Earth.

-The rides were flying down the tracks (except Its A Small World), less people =more fat people can fit better in the park = faster rides.

-Eating an hour before the tea cups = not the best idea.

-You can't promote Jamba Juice and get a photo taken by the "pay $12 for a 5"x7" " photographers. When you go to look at the pictures, The lady will delete them.

-My Soaring Over California smell thing smelled like oranges again when I was soaring over the ocean...Either the smell emitter or my nose needs a tune-up. How the ride gets by calling it, Soaring over California and doesn't have a "rotting kelp on the beach" smell and a "car exhaust" smell.

Monday

How I Met Your Mother
-Wait for it...

It was a nifty season premiere. Answered all the questions left from the season finale last season. What an interesting concept. Answering questions left from the previous season. Maybe the Lost writers should watch a lil bit of CBS on Mondays.

Heroes
-Four Months Later...

It was so-so. Didn't have to be extended in running time I thought. That and all five commercials were the same commercial. Um, that was just stupid. It should be interesting to see where they try to take this. I can see Heroes end up sucking or being a solid show.

The second half of Chuck was stupid. The last three minutes I saw of The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny. That could be an interesting sitcom.

I Guess He/She Likes Nissans

Taken from Top New Cars for 2008

The Nissan GT-R.

Infinity G37 Coupe

Nissan Nismo 350Z

It's kind of amazing how Nissan has banked pretty much all of their coupe/sedan products on one design.

The top one is probably the most fun to drive... But I'd probably want the G37 the most. For practical purposes, the G37 is probably the only car of the three with a back seat.

Weather Watch 07 Continues

Orange, CA @ 2:27 PM

Can Fall TV...

So I get to sort through the doctors' mail. There was a tv guide in it. I like tv. I watch it occasionally. of the 21 shows (next week) you've got to see listed in the TV guide... I watch four, heroes, how i met your mother, the office and dexter. Obviously I have horrible taste, 4 for 21. Thats below the Mendoza line.

-Heroes 9/24
So Heroes is kinda like the Red Sox. Started out the season super... Then kinda ended the season pretty averagely... Is season 2 going to be good or average?

-How I Met Your Mother 9/24
It's a nifty little sit-com. Not super, but not over-rated like The Office. Where are they going to take the storyline now?

-My Name is Earl 9/27
So how long before Earl gets out of jail? Season 1 was well done, season 2... well it was done.

-The Office 9/27
People talk about this show like its the greatest thing since Arrested Development...um, if there is another love triangle involving Pam/Jim/_______. I quit.

-Grey's Anatomy 9/27
I'm just curious whats going to happen now that half the cast is gone... not that I watch the show... or something... ok so I do, when it was focused on a drama. It was good. As a soap opera then... I lose interest.

-Dexter 9/30
Its a well done show. Hopefully it stays that way.

-30 Rock 10/4
One of the best sit-coms last season. Hopefully it avoids the sophomore slump.

-Scrubs 10/25
I was bored with season 6, except for the musical episode. It's the last season, it's shortened. So they don't have to drag out any storylines now, maybe they'll finish with a bang... maybe they'll limp to the finish line.

-Lost... if someone gives me a cliff notes on season 3, maybe I'll give it another shot.

Randallama Friday

So I got a stye in my eye. It began tingling monday. It reared her ugly head tuesday... It doesn't exactly hurt, but at the same time. It's kinda of disgusting to have like 1/24242 of my vision fuzzied by a lil pimple.

After a month of facebook... I'm beginning to get bored. which I'm going to liken to marriage. Everyone was like, "Are you on facebook?" "When are you going to get on facebook?" "You should facebook." Finally I jumped on the bandwagon. Enjoyed for a month. Now I'm like. Eh. It's kinda ok. Its better than myspace and its a nifty news feed on people that I wouldn't know otherwise.

Still waiting for this horrible Sept storm. I added pictures to my previous post of my Storm Watch '07.

I added a text package to my phone. We'll see if I keep this one longer than a month, probably not.

I had a dream, Sandra Oh was in it. I don't know why. I find her face to be unusally flat. As if she fell asleep on a desk as a young child and it stayed that way.
We were in some calculus class. Which could explain why she was chosen by my sub-concious to be in the dream.

We were taken a test. It was one huge problem, then a bunch of fluff. Like remember what happened in class on 1/3? What was that? There was a lot of giggling. Needless to say, I was lost while taking the test.

End of dream.

Greg called. Saying he wanted to see my guilty pleasure in Long Beach in Nov and that worked out because L.B. is right in between El Segundo and Huntington Beach.

I had no idea which guilty pleasure he was talking about.

Turns out its Fall Out Boy, Plain White T's, Gym Class Heroes and Cute is what we aim for.

I told him I don't think I can handle 12-year-old girls, I've already seen the Plain White T's live, wasn't all that impressed and I dont think I can handle the Gym Class Heroes live.

He said he needs a reason to make another CA trip.

I told him to find a show with 15-year-old girls instead of 12-year-old girls as a fan base and maybe I'll consider it.

Ok LeeElle obviously he wants to move, so you know what to do. nag convince him to get on the ball and apply for jobs in CA. Everywhere needs engineers.

David could still be worked on, but slowly. Just in case I decide to go out there for spring training next march.

Country Diddies From HB

So the A's are out of the playoff race. Hockey season hasn't started yet. So I'm fully invested in BYU football, til Oct 4th, then it's hockey season (though I'm not too keen on the new Sharks sweaters...)!

The good news is, since I've been alive,
the Cougars are 2-0 on Sept 22nd.
They are 17-7 against Air Force with an average score of 33 to 23.
They are 38-20 against fellow Mountain West Conference teams.
They are 118-38 at home.

So I had a dream I was at a Bible reading with a bunch of different Christians inside a gasoline station convenience store.

Which seems strange at first, but it kinda made sense.
-When the good word is getting tiring, you can get 44 oz of liquid caffeine to wake you up.
-There are bathrooms.
-You have enough faith that God will protect you when use those bathroom.
-Gasoline fumes make it easier to see visions.
-If you decide Christianity isn't for you, you can fill up and get on with your life.

AA Hum?!?!

So like most people, we have nothing but junk in our garage. So we don't go in there very often. That and only one roommate has the one key to get into it. Well he was digging around in there and then, when he was finished, closed it up.

Three days later, he noticed a puddle and went in there to investigate. He looks behind some boxes and sees a cat. The neighbors' cat wandered in while my roommate was looking around and was locked in. The puddle was cat urine... so I guess our garage is going to smell like cat piss. rad.

I'm watching the USC/Nebraska game. They had an update about the UCLA/Utah game. UCLA is having a hard time in Provo, Utah... Hm... I guess the Utes play in Provo... I love national sports casters. Utah: 44 UCLA: 6. Yup thats a #11 football program.
Those Utes just screwed up what little strength there was in BYU's strength of schedule.

So the A's pitching kinda sucked this week. 5.55 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, 6.4 K/9 IN.
Thats ok I guess they went 5-2.
The hitters helped them out. .309/.410/.488 w/RISP, .329 AVG, .454 OBP.

I can't stand the Angels' announcers. They way they talk about the Angels, you'd think they went 162-0 each of the past three years.

and the Angels win, the A's are mathematically eliminated from winning the AL West. Sad.

Ha Ha

I think it's better than the Tom Brady one.

Harrasment At Work - Watch a funny movie here

Friday, September 14, 2007

So...

usually the A's have a chance to win the AL West pennant up to the last days of Sept.

Now there elimination number is 1. So all the Angels have to do is win a game or all the A's have to do is lose a game and there is no way (beside time travel, I guess) the A's have a chance at winning the AL West. Sad, the Angels are playing the worst team in baseball this weekend. So its pretty much done.

Since this season has been a bit disappointing. I starting using the World Wide Web for what it was meant for. Looking up pointless facts.

Who has the best regular season record since I've been alive? (1981-2006)
Yankees 2281-1802, .559 W% four-time World Series
Braves 2206-1876, .540 W% 1-World Series
Red Sox 2186-1905, .534 W%, 1-World Series
Cardinals 2167-1915 .531 W%, 2-world series
A's 2157-1935, .527 W%, 1-world series.

Having the fifth best record over the course of two and a half decades is pretty good... Thats nothing to hang your head over.

The other 25 teams that haven't done as hot as the A's (how many times they won a world series).

6-Astros
7-Dodgers 2-WS
8-White Sox 1-WS
9-Blue Jays 2-WS
10-Giants
11-Mets 1-WS
12-Angels 1-WS

Then the teams that have lost more games than they've won.
13-Diamondbacks 1-WS
14-Indians
15-Reds 1-WS
16-Expos/Nationals
17-Phillies
18-Orioles 1-WS
19-Rangers
20-Padres
21-Twins 2-WS
22-Mariners
23-Cubs
24-Brewers
25-Tigers 1-WS
26-Marlins 2-WS
27-Royals 1-WS
28-Pirates
29-Rockies
30-Devil Rays... Tampa Bay is a sad place to be for a baseball fan. Pittsburgh is pretty crappy too.

Another 1/3 Day at Disneyland... Slowly trying to get my Disney Endurance Up

Thats the look of pure joy at the happiest place on earth... or something...

The Disneyland pass is now down to $5.81 a ride. 22 rides spread out over four days. I'm well on my way.

So this time around. We ended up on the front of every ride, where being in the front kinda slows you down. We were in the very front on the Thunder Mountain Railroad. Yeah. we were half way down the hills when the back of the train hit the apex. One hill we were at the bottom before the back end got over the top... kinda lame.

We were in the second row on California Screamin. Kinda lame. Before we got on, the train came back empty. So the operator was like, "Where did all the people go?" ha ha. hm.

Oh and the Rivercats are PCL Champs!!! Good for them. When half their roster has been playing Oakland A's baseball.

One Month at UCI Done and Done...

Me looking like I'm hard at work...

After work I'm going to Disneyland. I just push the exit button and it shoots me out to my car...

Ok that didn't quite work...I've only been here a month. I don't know how to make EVERYTHING work quite yet.

Random Rants

So at work, the Division kinda thinks we're getting screwed on lab coats. So I have to find some cheaper lab coats. The thing is... they're all about the same price. They're all about the same brands. Some may have cheaper coats but charge more for embroidery.

All in all the prices end up pretty much the same. So what it comes down to in the lab coat industry is service... and embroidery that doesn't fall apart.

There is one company that claims their coats are worn on Grey's Anatomy. Now all the coats look pretty much the same to me... So I don't know how anyone but you would notice you're wearing a "Grey's Anatomy" approved coat.

I guess if it makes you feel sexier and like there is more drama in your life. It's worth it.

Who's going to the first Sharks/Kings game in LA in a month and a half. I am. It's going to be sweet. Unless the Sharks lose...

I'm tentatively penciled in to go the UNLV/BYU game in a month. I'm going to more BYU football games living outside of Provo than I did while in Provo...

The thing is. The stadium is in the ghetto. The game is going to a huge blow out. Because UNLV really has a crappy football team... Maybe I'll just skip out of the game. But the things I want to do in Vegas will pretty much done for the season. Rehab at the Hard Rock is over. Ditch Fridays at the Palms is still going on I think... But it's not the same. I guess the ghost tour would be kinda cool. Who knows maybe some fun people will go. Maybe not.

Content Stolen From Jordan

So apparently you can buy a calendar of "Mormon Missionaries" half naked. Don't worry i pixelated out the nipples and those strange bumps on his arms and body...

So I think this is just wrong. Because where is the sister missionary one? Hm on second thought, there would probably be only two good months...and the rest would just kinda suck. These people are obviously stupid. I would have made it a two-year calendar... Then I would have made a Save these girls from going on a mission 18-month calendar. And then you could put attractive girls in there.

They make other stuff too. Like T-shirts...

LINK

Mormonsexposed.com...shame on you.

If you seperate it out, Mormon sex posed.

Shame shame. Marketing your products to silly Miamaids everywhere.

Six Years Ago Today

I was in Japan. The biggest thing I had to worry about was North Korea shooting another missile over Japan or finding enough things to do so I wouldn't have to knock on doors from 10 am- 9 pm.

Life was pretty sweet. 3.5 more month and I'd be all done knocking doors and getting yelled at by a mission president. All and all. win win. Sure walking around with 150 million people that looked like me was fun and all. But the word of God in Japanese is heavy. Mainly because its huge and isn't paperback.

So we're sitting there, six years ago today. Trying to look like we're doing morning schedule and my MTC comp calls up and is like, "So some parts of America were destroyed"

I'm like hm, crazy that. Thinking like Rhode Island fell into the Atlantic. Then he says that the World Trade Towers are gone and the Pentagon. I was like, thats not what I was thinking. He asks me to call up the ole district to see if anyone had any family that worked in the World Trade Towers or the Pentagon.

(No one did, we were all west coasters, God loves the West Coast)

So we ride off to the best service ever. Playing wheelchair basketball with a bunch of crazy strongheaded Japanese folks. They had TVs in the front of the gym. So we probably spent about 90 mins watching the news. It was quite shocking. Partially because I haven't seen anything in English on TV in a while and partially because they weren't exactly sure what happened at first.

My first college roommate was in upstate New York and so he said it was a solemn experience because pretty much everyone in the area knew someone that died. Crazy.

Boy time sure goes by fast, maybe now I'll finish watching "The Road to 9/11" that I started watching last year. Eh probably not.

Dreams and Sports

So it's been a while since I had a dream...at least one that I could remember. But this one was one of those, wake up, and mumble, "wow that was a doozy" kinda dream.

I was eating at some restaurant (thats no crappy Applebees-esque place) and Jess was saying something to get my goat. All water down the duck's back though. So the insults get a lot worse. Still no big deal.

Finally something snaps. There is a whole lot of yelling. Maybe a little cussing. And maybe a couple water pitchers are used as projectiles.

Needless to say, it was a lot of H2O violence.

At the end, she says it was for some reality hidden camera show like thing. I was not amused.

We got $50. I woke up, I didn't have $50. or even $25. Sad. Maybe they were spent to replace the pitchers...

Dan Johnson hit his third grand slam of his career. Kurt Suzuki hit his first grand slam of his career. The A's are out of last place in the West.

So I watched most of the 49ers/Cardinals game...For 58 minutes, it was boring. Between the two teams, 456 yards. yawn. Leinart 14 for 28. yawn. Smith 15 for 31. yawn. Smith matched 86 yards in the last 2 and half minutes. that was entertaining.
Overall though, yawn.

I'm Just Offended by ESPN...Again And I Don't Even Give a Rat's A$$ About Football

Regarding the UCLA/BYU game.

It was over when... Trey Brown intercepted Max Hall's pass with 1:58
remaining in the first quarter for the Bruins' second TD of the day.

That makes it seem like it wasn't a close game. BYU racked up 201 more yards of offense and like always shot themselves in the foot with stupid penalties.

UCLA didn't look like a #11 team in the nation.

The game was over in the beginning of the fourth quarter. When BYU coughed up the ball at UCLA's 13 yard line.

Sharks Rookies 3 Ducks Rookies 1

BYU FOOTBALL (1-1)

So there goes the two-game win streak against the PAC10 conference.

Who'd a thunk... I did.

So as I hang out with people now. The juicy stuff is now "off the record". The hard-hitting, biased, un-fair, action packed reporting on Kaakun.com is ruffling feathers.

So this is what I can report.

Before the game, we played wife swap. I got LeeElle. John got single life.
It was super. Super dull, we ran errands. Some people might get mad that I said this, but how fun could errands be? (it wasn't super dull, it was just errands)
I went to the BYU game.
I bought a ticket off a scalper.
It was the cheapest ticket any of my friends/associates bought.
It was a swell seat. It was on about the 15 yard line, 26 rows back and was a seat, not a bench.
I moved during halftime to sit next to Derek and Greg and their posse.
Leaving my awesome seat of loneliness to a crappy seat surrounded by Mormons.
BYU lost.

Thats all I can report.

I know. I know. Kinda boring.

Actually I can report more.

So we were going to eat after the game. Someone in the UT's posse wanted to eat at Mucho Mas. So we asked someone where a Mucho mas was. He never heard of it, but said there was a poquito mas.

So we went a phone book. There was no Mucho mas in the phone book (in the yellow or white pages). However, there was a poquito mas. So we jotted down the address and headed over there. (What are the chances that in the 17.4 sq miles of Burbank there would be so many restaurants with mas at the end of the name).

So we're sitting at a taco stand called Poquito Mas. Greg and the Utah posse is sitting at a restaurant called Mucho Mas.

There was an error in communication. Don't question me, I'm a Communications major. I know these things when I see it.

So we didn't eat together. We ate 3.5 miles away from one another.

Our restaurant was Zagat reviewed though... Mucho mas is pending review. So go us.

Afterwards, there was a little bit of a run-in at Krispy Kreme.

John: I'd like a Hot Carmel steamer
lady: a carmel latte?
John a hot carmel steamer
lady: a white chocolate latte
John a hot carmel steamer
Lady: a carmel mocha?
John: a hot carmel steamer.
Lady a blended glazed donut?
John: a hot carmel steamer.
Lady: a 7-up?

This went on for quite sometime. If you've never had it, it's pretty much 3 parts sugar, 1 part milk.

I don't know how I feel about the "Red Rover" style of our offensive line.

LA county. The biggest parking lot in the world. This is actually on a golf course.

More Marrieds...

So I've added two folks to the Blogger Buddies. Both are married (not to each other). Both are work related. The married bloggin buddies are up to five.

So I worked with Reagan at Xango. We didn't really talk. But when I left, thanks to the World Wide Web. We converse. It helps that she likes baseball... Albeit the Red Sox...

Sierra is the wife of Darren, a kid I worked with in Vegas. They're an entertaining bunch. Not your average boring married Mormons. So welcome welcome both.

(Now I realize that I never welcomed anyone else before, which may anger some old buddies. But don't get your panties all up in a bunch. There is no need to welcome people when no one is reading anyways. Now that I've up-ed the blog from crappy crap with no readers. To crap and have five readers a day. Thank you for reading. Pretty soon I can sell out and have google ads on the side)

Social Networking Sites

So recently, thanks to the wonders of social networking websites, I've been able to find a handful of women, that I used to feed and entertain (some laughed with me, some maybe at me... what am I thinking, they all loved me).

I've discovered that I had really good taste in females. They're kinda hot. In a semi-jaw dropping way that you'd be willing to introduce them to your guy friends.

Maybe with my lotto winnings I'd buy a time machine and go back and tell Past Kirk that maybe I should put a little more effort into having a better personality or attitude about things. I'm not quite sure what the bad parts are, maybe I'll track down past LeeElle and seek her advice.

Oh and I watched the first episode of HBO's The Flight of Conchords. I don't know if it's a silly show or quite possibly the best sitcom in a while. I'll watch more episodes and report back.

Labor Day Weekend

Black and white.

Teaching the neph how to drive... Sorta.

So I kinda turned into a pool lounge chair...

testing out blogger's video player.

Hmm

Vanessa Hudgens sends naughty pictures to Zac Efron. Someone finds out and tells someone else, who tells someone else...

Vanessa’s only 18, so she had no idea how her flirtatious act could threaten the future of the multimillion-dollar plans Disney has for the show, said the source. She just wanted to keep Zac interested.

It’s a kids’ show, aimed a children, teenagers and their parents and starring a bunch of cute, wholesome youngsters

I find the comments funny, mainly because I doubt it's going to hurt anything.

There is no such thing as wholesome youngsters in Hollywood, especially ones that associate themselves with Disney...somehow they always end up, bad.

Anyways, this better not make Disneyland Annual Passes go up in price next year...

K.I.T. Overload

So about a million years ago when the World Wide Web wasn't so World Wide. AOL got everyone hooked on this thing called Instant Messenger. Fast forward a couple years and now every Internet company and their mom have their own IM client.

Needless to say I'm a bit overloaded with all these K.I.T. clients. I'm using Google Talk, AIM, Yahoo and MSN messenger... yeah a bit much. They all do the same thing. The sad thing is, some of them only have a handful of people that use them.

My early attempts to convert them to one client so I didn't have to have three different things running was futile.

Now social network websites are the craze as well. So I'm facebooking it, myspacin it, and I have a friendster account that really hasn't been touched since I signed up and realized that it was really a piece of crap.

Then there are those people that rather just text...

It's kind of silly I could have about ten different conversations going on over six different outlets with the same person.

For example I could talk to Larrie via text, myspace, facebook, google talk, msn messenger, e-mail, blog comments and carrier pigeon.

It's like a "progressive" dinner. Without the dinner. Want to see what happens next in the conversation. Change to a different Internet program.

Whatever happened to good ole telephone or snail mail letter?

You write til your hand cramps up...the left hand smearing as you write along. Shove it an envelope, then slobber over the edge of the envelope, slobber over a stamp and let it sit on a desk for a couple weeks til you actually drop it in a mailbox.

If you want something thats more "real-time" interaction. Pick up the phone.

The Lotto

So the lotto is at $12 mil right now. What could I do with $12 mil?

Probably get married. Having what ever is left after $12 mil after taxes and tithing in the ole checking account would probably line up a wife.

Register for a dyson, the nicest blender in the world, and a kitchen aid mixer. No reason to spend all my money on kitchen appliances when someone could buy them for me.

A Weekly "Will it Blend?" night. w/ fresh baked cookies.

We'd clean out the blender with the Dyson. Calling it, "Will it Suck?" afterwards.

I don't think I'd go to overboard on the spending.

Find a nice middle class $1.6 million home in South San Jo and live amongst the white people.

I'd go easy and just by an Infiniti G coupe. No reason to blow the whole lotto winnings on car insurance.

I'd actually have food storage. You never know when the next one is going to hit. With millions in the bank, I'd be able to afford food storage.

I'd still work. Nothing too crazy though. I'd like to take time off whenever and travel.

So I'd talk to those New York kiddies I know. I'd buy a loft and rent it out to them. I'd keep a room un-rented and occasionally go East to see what all the fuss about NY is. Or to occasionally boo the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. I'd even keep rent below what is charged for comparable lofts.

Buy a Hastens bed.

Vacation like mad, I'd let who ever wants to come and let them stay in whatever accommodations for free. I'd make them pony up the airplane money though. I'm not rich here. I'd be like those American Express cards. Sitting at home with a posse. Then we'd be off in Italy making wine. Then off in Japan spa-ing it up. Then off in NY eating in a diner. My card. My Signature. My life.

Some A's tickets and some Sharks tickets every season.

Find a school that will exchange an honorary doctorate degree for a "substantial donation". So I could hang it in my study. Maybe we could work out a deal for a little more if they'd let my offspring go to school for "free".

pay for marriage counseling, somehow a sudden marriage due to my good fortune doesn't seem so rock steady.

Have a Pottery barn living room and an ikea living room. If I think highly of you, I'll show off my way over-priced living room. If I'm not keen on you, you're sitting on the sofa made from balsa wood and cotton that may bleed if your pants are damp from the rain/sprinklers/etc.

I'd create a kitchen stadium in someone's basement. I'd get food network chefs to cook in there. Then I'd have it broadcast in Japan with Japanese subtitles...I think they'd love it for its novelty.

I'd buy Ellie a cat... maybe a lazy cat. Maybe a shopping spree too. That closet of hers is a bit lonely. Which could be voided out by a clothes shredding cat. Boy that would be ironic.
I'd buy John an awesome year's worth of Outdoor advertising so he could advertise to injury victims and botched plastic surgery folks, you know, so he could practice law that changes lives.
Larrie would be sent off on a Caribbean cruise, grad school is rough.
I'd commission Rebecca to make my San Jo home and NY loft arsty fartsy. More on the artsy side than the fartsy side.
Get Jason a couple shipping containers for his Japan move. Can't leave his cars behind now...they deserve to be driven on the wrong side.

I take care of my Bloggin Buddies...sorta. At least if they look at my blog.

I think I'm going to have to hold out for the lotto to get above $12 mil...

Ready for Fall.

Some of the reasons are:
-So I'm curious to see how seasons 2 of Dexter and Heroes pan out. They were both solid shows, lets see if they end up sucking like Lost...

-Hockey season, the A's have kinda sucked since the middle of June. So I need something to look forward besides a "we barely lost" baseball game.

-These heat warnings of mid 80 highs in H.B. are killer I say. I mean 84 degrees in the middle of the day?!?!?!

-I could be one season closer to convincing someone to move down to CA. A couple of days of scrapping snow off windshields could only help my cause.

-Apparently they "Nightmare Before Christmas"-ize the Haunted Mansion @ Disneyland for the holidays.

-An average winter day of 64 degree highs and 48 degree lows...Cold weather but not so cold your toes have goose bumps. Rad.

-Warm Cups of hot chocolate on a cold Sunday morning in February.

Bakersfield, CA = West Valley, UT

So after a couple more days in Bakersfield. I've decided it is CA's answer to West Valley (or vica veresa since Bakersfield was established first). Both are cities that had some really ghetto parts. But there are some nicer parts as well.

(Despite the fact that Bakerfield has twice as many people as West Valley.)

According to the census info, both cities are "mainly" white (WV=78%, B=62%)

Bakersfield= The median income for males was $38,834, compared to $27,148 for females.

West Valley = Males had a median income of $32,116 versus $22,693 for females.

They both have ECHL hockey teams.

Ticket to Hell?

So my "Ticket to Ride" skills have taken a turn for the worst. They are similar to my "Heaven or Hell" skills right now.

I lost to Irene in March. Someone who never heard of the game before...

LeeElle's cousins beat me in April... That family always seems to kick my butt. Even the pre-teen red-head beat me. That's just sad. Losing to redheads.

John and/or LeeElle beat me in July.

Now I'm losing to family.

Sad.
