Finally

So I finally found a sale on Planet Earth the BBC version.
And remedied that "WTF is Sigourney Weaver doing narrating?!" version with the "all is right in the universe" David Attenborough version.

Kaakun Goes to a Charity Event

So Krochet Kids/Toms shoes (you know that company on the AT&T commercials)had a charity event.

-My roommate wanted to buy some TOMS, you know so a needy kid could get a pair of shoes, $45 for some canvas glued to a rubber sole seems a bit pricey, but I suppose sending another free pair over the ocean would be a bit pricey.

-They did not have a size 12, my roommate was quite annoyed, I told him that I am sure many 3rd world kids do not live long enough to have size 12 feet. This did not fix his disappointment.

-Dustin Kensrue played. win for Kaakun during the Hiatus from Hiatus tour.

Someone's pics from the event yay for a bunch of "yay save the world" posers and a handful of hippies. (Really, whats so bad about wearing a bra ladies?! They help keep things in check, I'd recommend it. Swing low, sweet chariot,
Comin' for to carry me home...). link

That's a Lot of Free Time (or something)

So someone made up a fake "Green Lantern" trailer. Apparently Ryan Reynolds was cast. He thinks Nathan Fillion should be it. after seeing his pieced together trailer... It's probably the most amazing make-believe trailer I've ever seen.

Fourth of July Weekend Baseball

Went to Oakland! $2 tickets, $1 hot dogs, free of explosive diarrhea win-win-win (A's 5, Detroit 1, win!)

"Come ON BLUE!!!! That was a strike!!"

Funny how the last CA ballpark for me to hit up was the one 40 mile from home.

Home was nice, Thing 1 is now three-years-old. Fireworks, burgers, baseball. hot dogs. It was a pretty solid 4th of July.

Hiatus from Hiatus

So almost EXACTLY three years ago, I gave up going to shows.

No more getting covered in sweat and blood.
No more getting kicked in the back of the head by crowd surfers.
No more ringing in the ears.

That lasted til April 2007.

Sherwood was playing in SLC. Kaakun never saw Sherwood, so Kaakun made a trip up to UT. Saw some people, ate some food and was going to see Sherwood...

We showed up late... missed their whole set. Only saw Mae and Reliant K.
Sad.

Well every summer with Warped Tour comes the urge to hiatus the Hiatus. This leads to poking around on the Interwebz and seeing what I could find. I wanted to see Machester Orchestra and Fun in May... that was thwarted by tickets selling out a month before the show.

After some more poking, saw that Sherwood was coming to Anacrime. Kaakun soon took off to the House of Blues site and lo and behold found out Dredg and Rx Bandits were playing too. That busted the door and I hiatused the Hiatus.

The Kaakun Hiatus the Hiatus Tour '09
July 8- Rx Bandits, Dredg, Good Old War
July 12- Copeland, Sherwood, Anchor & Braille, and Meese
Aug 23- Warped Tour (Though I am still on the fence about this...and have been for a month)

Side note: The Freaks and Geeks DVDs are on Amazon for $37.49 (and Wonderfalls for $19.99) If you have no idea what I'm talking about, drop some cash and be entertained with well done tv shows that were canceled way too early.

What a Deal!

So I got an e-mail and was checking out the merch.

Thought this was a steal. took a screen cap and am now saving my pennies so I can buy one.
